Update: March 19, 2012
I learned over the weekend that ceramic SMD capacitors cannot be reliably soldered using a soldering iron. It seems the ceramic material expands at a different rate than the circuit board and causes microscopic cracks in the crystalline structure of the ceramic. Apparently this will cause the parts to fail over time, and / or cause sporadic behavior.
I am glad I learned this now as I am gearing up to build the bulk run of boards, and it has caused me to modify my initial approach to board assembly. This is a small set back, but it should only take a week to get set up for the new process. I want to apologize for the delay, I am working on getting these done as fast as I can.
Update: March 15, 2012
The circuit boards arrived. Now I’m only waiting on a few parts and assembly can begin.
Update: March 5, 2012
A week late, I know, I apologize. Since the minimum order to have the F18A manufactured was not met, I have decided I can handle the quantity myself and I will be doing all the assembly. This will slow down the delivery a little, but not too much I hope. Boards and parts have been ordered, and once they come in I will begin fulfilling the F18A orders in the order they were received.
Thank you everyone for your support and patience, but the waiting is almost over! 🙂

Well, it finally happened and the F18A is available for pre-order in the store! I was hoping to be able to fund the first batch myself, but my money tree died this year, so I have to humbly ask for pre-orders. This post will be short since all the details are on the order page. I’m really excited and hope that enough pre-orders come in to run a batch or two. Thanks everyone for your support and patience during the development.
That’s a wonderful job and idea.
I can go now for 30 more years with the TI99 on a new screen without kinning my eyes!
As a programmer, maybe some “extra” using this board!
Guillaume.
Wow, i have seen one of the prototypes at the austrian TI-99/4A club. What a perfect picture! What great colors! I am thinking to add one to my VTech CreatiVision Console. …
Greetings TOM:-)
Hi,
this is a perfect job. I am waiting so long to grab out my Texas “Baby” from the dark.
Thanks for doing this !!!!
Michael
I may have three orders for you. Do you still have spare boards if so what cost
The F18A is still available on the store page, although I’m currently out of stock. I will have more boards available soon.
Any new batches upcoming?
Yes, F18A boards are available in the store again.
I want to buy a F18A for my ti ((/4a computer. I wan’t to know what it caost and if there are any more.
Please see my web-store page. The cost is $78 USD, but I am currently out of stock. I am in the process of having more boards made.
I would be interested in 2 boards. How do I get on the waiting list? Thank you, Dan
Send me a message via the contact form saying your want to be on the list.
I’d like to be placed on the wait list….thanks!
Just sent a request via the contact form asking to be added to the list of those waiting for more to be made. Hopefully, Dan and Scott above have used the form (http://codehackcreate.com/contact-us) as that would be another 3 at least! Fingers crossed we don’t have to wait too long.
